first impression of Barceloneta. The harbor and beach area was extremely crowded at that time of day, and especially year! I bet that aside from the mid-summer season it is a lot more relaxed and not so packed! I was honestly a bit shocked, although the scene did offer some nice images. The Makamaka restaurant was at a corner at the main beach street, coming from the harbor. We passed it several times and it was always full and alive with people. It looked really great with a relaxed and cool atmosphere, but we never ate there, even though we wanted to, but we somehow never managed to do so... As this was mid-day, and I am not for lying on the beach like the oil-sardines in a tin-can, we decided to go back to the beach very very early in the morning and enjoy some quieter hours at the ocean. Images of that soon to come! We stopped at the Boqueria market on our way to the beach very early as well, so that was another highlight of my trip! All of those fruits and vegetables, and sweets, and fish...it was overwhelming! But more on that later.
