Following my rave post about the lovely city Lisbon, I would like to share three spaces where I would always go to have a mid-day snack (Noobai Cafe), coffee and dessert (Bica do Sapato), the most delicious chocolate mousse ever (Pap'Açorda) , lunch or dinner (all three) if I am in Lisbon!
NOOBAI CAFE is a great spot to have a snack or light lunch. In a rather relaxed atmosphere you have an amazing view over the Tejo river. Also great in the evening with some drinks and dinner while enjoying the sun set beyond the river. In five days, we have been there about four times, I think that says it all. Not only the location is iconic, the food and beverages are extremely good and reasonably priced! Check it out and tell me if you do!
Terrace at Noobai Cafe
BICA DO SAPATO is probably one of the trendiest and exciting places in Lisbon (together with Pap'Acorda). It belongs to the one and only actor John Melkovich. But no, we did not meet him whilst dining there, and neither while we were enjoying the terrace beside the docks at the Tejo river and having some crème brûlée. The place has got a unique charme (sophistically glamorous with some rough edges...if that makes sense). You can not help yourself but feel amazing and glamorous while having amazing food and sitting in one of the mixed-and-matched vitra chairs. What I really liked about this place, was its grounded glamour. The people were sophisticated and not once conceited or arrogant. We came in with our helmets, kind of rough and tousled hair from riding the vespa. We did not feel out of place though! If you dress accordingly (neat but not neccesarily over-dressed or extremely chic), then you´ll fit right in and take in all of the good things this place has to offer. Enjoy!
