CLINIQUE CHUBBY STICKS . Woppin´ Watermelon + Pudgy Peony

Clinique Chubby Sticks review: Woppin´ Watermelon and Pudgy Peony

The two Chubby Sticks that have made it into my collection so far are seriously on the pink side of the various colors that Clinique offers for these it-lip-stains.
They are supposed to nourish, hydrate and soften the lips while depositing a subtle stain on the lips that lasts longer than a regular lip balm color. This description is quite accurate, although I think that the hydrating action is pretty basic. My lips are terribly chapped in winter, however, so these funny lip-crayons are perfect for the colder seasons. In the warmer months probably as well...
As far as the stain goes, they do last pretty long for a lip balm/stick. The deeper color, Pudgy Peony, is definitely still noticeable after a couple of hours, although naturally not as vibrant and glossy as in the beginning. I do not mind that at all. I actually happen to think that it looks a lot better after an hour or so. These sticks fade in a lovely way, leaving your lips with a flush of color. Of course this effect will not be as noticeable with the lighter colors. You can already tell that in the faded stains (I wiped the swatches on my hand with a tissue after application to see how they stain/fade) the color Woppin´ Watermelon, which is lighter than Pudgy Peony, does not stain the skin as much.
Out of the two, Pudgy Peony is my favored Chubby Stick. The color is amazing! I even wear it during the day occasionally, even though it is such a statement color. But if you dab it on just very lightly, it gives the lips an incredible barely-there color that is perfectly wearable any time of the day. These lip stains are great to layer, getting deeper and more intense with every layer that you apply. Try combining some of them as well!!

Here are some impressions of the two colors. I will definitely be trying some more in the future, especially the new Chubby Sticks Intense that will be coming out any day now in Germany.
